Nastya Kashnikov had the perfect life and a promising future ahead of her until that one 

afternoon. Now, she only wants to find the boy who destroyed her future and find out why 

he did it. Without any will to keep enjoying life as she did before she just wants to get through 

high school unnoticed. 

Josh Bennett has nothing left to live for, literally nothing. Because no one knows how to deal 

with a seventeen year old boy with no family they all leave him alone. It's like he has an 

invisible shield around him and Nastya wants just that, to be left alone. 

Nastya becomes intrigued by Josh's don't-mess-with-me-I-want-none-of-your-pity-attitude 

and can't help but keep showing up at his garage while he works on furniture (his hobby). At first 

Josh doesn't understand why she always shows up but then becomes use to it. In a strange way 

they develop the closest relationship you can think of without really knowing each other if that 

makes any sense. Josh does open up to Nastya but the hints she gives him about her past scare 

him to want to know the rest of her story.

This book is so beautiful and funny at the same time, I'm just going to leave it at that because 

finding out everything as you read it makes it that much more amazing. As I was reading this book 

The supporting characters were amazingly portrayed especially Drew. That boy needs a book of 

his own I'm telling you. Some parts in the book made me feel like I was watching a classic 

John Hughes movie like The Breakfast Club.

Intense sadness and happiness all wrapped in to one with glimmering 

hope is what this book is.

Hilariously refreshing ! I needed this after reading so many melodramatic books, my heart and tear ducts 

needed a break. If you want to read a funny story about a silly girl who gets drunk and makes a mistake with a 

cute boy at a frat party, who then ends up fantasizing about him for four years until she finally comes face to face 

with him again this it. Claire and Carter's relationship is freaking hilarious and their little mistake too. Their son 

Gavin is at that age where he repeats everything he hears and the dialogue in this book will literally 

have you cracking up.

Better late than never right? I know it's technically Saturday morning but I just couldn't put this baby together faster, not until I felt it was great. And here it is. I finally watched The Great Gatsby on Thursday and loved it. I wanted to kick myself for not seeing it sooner. It's one of my favorite books of all time. I love the scenery, the parties, the love story, the betrayal, and of course the fashions.

For those of you who haven't read or seen The Great Gatsby let me give you a little recap:

Jay Gatsby met the wonderfully poised Daisy Buchanan five years prior before going to war. When he met Daisy he pretended he was wealthy to win her over because he knew a lady of her status wouldn't notice him if he didn't have status. Daisy promised to wait for Gatsby until after the war was over. But instead she married Tom Buchanan, a very wealthy aristocrat. Gatsby was devastated but was still determined to win Daisy back. So, he gets involved in a lot of illegal businesses, mainly selling liquor, to win his millions. He buys an estate directly across the dock of Daisy and Tom's estate. He throws elaborate  parties every weekend where people from all over New York City come to celebrate. Gatsby does this to hopefully win Daisy back by having her walk in to one of his parties. But then it just so happens Daisy's cousin, Nick Carraway, moves in to the home next to Gatsby's. He wins Nick's friendship and convinces him to invite Daisy for tea so that he can reunite with his long lost love. I don't want to say any more and give anymore away if you haven't read this or seen the movie, so all I will say is don't expect a happy ending, but the movie is beautiful nonetheless.

Shaw Landon is a spoiled lost rich girl, Rule's family took in as one of their own, as well as his dead 

twin brother's girlfriend, or so he thinks. 

Shaw has lived her life according to her parents rules all her life. They basically tell her what to wear and who to date etc. They don't set these rules because they care about her but more so to keep their social status intact with the who's who of their community. Remy, Rule's dead twin brother, took Shaw under his wing when she was thirteen. And the Archer family being the way they are took her in as a daughter. Remy and Shaw were inseparable, leading everyone to assume they were an item. 

Fast-forward three years later and the book starts with Shaw walking into Rule's apartment to him knocked out naked with some girl in his bed. When Rule sees Shaw he nonchalantly gets up to get dressed as if this were an ordinary thing because in their relationship it is. Shaw's use to seeing Rule naked in bed with random girls so she decides to wait in the car. 

So let me explain, Remy died three years ago in a car accident when he was on his way to pick up a drunk Rule at a party. See Remy was the perfect twin who always did as he was told and Rule was the outcast who never did as he was told. Remy's death shook the Archer family to its core. Margot, the mother can't even look at Rule because she blames him for Remy's death. The father just lets the family fall apart because he's still grieving Remy's death. And Rome the older brother can't take the family's hostility, so he joins the army to stay away from the drama. This leaves Shaw as the glue trying to keep the Archer family together. Every Sunday the Archer's attempt to be civil with a brunch and at the end they always end up fighting. Shaw picks Rule up every Sunday because her driving him to his parents house is the only way he'll go visit the family he feels hates him for existing. 

You might be wondering why Shaw deals with Rule's asshole ways and puts up with him every Sunday, very simple she's been in love with him ever since she first stepped foot into the Archer household. But Rule always saw her as a spoiled brat and his brother's girl. Until one night everything changes and the I've-never-felt-any-type-of-feelings-for-a-girl-ever Rule starts to see Shaw as more than just a brat and more like an actual woman. 

This book is so good, so full of melodrama, angsty, and sexual tension it literally has sparks. When these two opposites attract the chemistry is undeniable. There's family drama, jealous, sex, betrayal, secrets, and even a stalker ex-boyfriend who won't catch a hint. So, what are you waiting for? Go get this book and get some good angsty melodrama in your dreary life.

Audrey in Rome

Audrey in Rome is a gorgeous book filled with candid images of Audrey Hepburn, while living in Rome composed by her son Luca Dotti. I can't wait to get my hands on this baby. She was freaking fabulous even when she wasn't trying to be, just walking her dog (named Famous and one of the reasons why I got a Yorkie myself) or grocery shopping.

Read this a while ago but I had to share because its such a sweet, charming, entertaining, sexy read.

I was really surprised how much I really enjoyed this book. I didn't think it was going to sweep me off my feet like it did. First of all let me say I will never look at cookies, milk, and chinese food the same way again, thanks to the gorgeous and sweet Cameron Hamiltion a.k.a Cam.

Avery Morgansten is finally free to live her life thousands of miles away at college. After one tragic Halloween party five years ago that still haunts her until this day she has never been the same. Neither have her friends of parents. She's holding this big secret that has her feeling like she can't breathe and live the life of a normal college girl.

But then she meets Cam, well she doesn't really meet him more like plows right into him on her first day of college knocking over all her books and his. Just what she wanted to slam and trip right into the hottest most charming guy at her college when all she wanted was to remain invisible. When she finally pulls away from Cam and gets her books together, they realize they have the same astronomy class. Let me backtrack for a bit, the reason Avery was in such a rush and slammed into Cam is because she hates to be late. Yup, she's really that anal and paranoid to be around people. And to avoid walking late into a class were everyone's eyes will be on you, she blots. Yup, she literally blots from Cam's side and leaves him hanging with an open classroom door. Avery has never had a boyfriend or really any friends after that Halloween party, so she has no idea how to interact with guys or people in general, which is why she always runs away from her problems.

Turns out not only is Cam her Astronomy partner but also her next door neighbor. For months Cam is sweet to Avery being her friend and constantly asking her out. Avery takes the asking out part as joke because she doesn't really think he would be interested in her. Eventually, she gives in they have one of the most charming relationships I've ever read about. That is until Avery's secret threatens their relationship and she starts to get threatening emails, voicemails, and calls from a horrible part of her past. And what does Avery do you ask when this unbelievably-hot-gorgeous-sweet-charming-steamy-most-perfect-boyfriend-ever asks her about her past? She runs away. But there's something about Cam that has her rethinking her decision.

If you want to read a sweet love story that will have your heart warming up, well this is it. I think I've said sweet in this review about ten times already, that's how just shows how freaking sweet this story is !

Channeling Miss Daisy Buchanan

 Okay can we seriously take a moment out to take in the fabulous-ness of this editorial by the amazing 

Mario Testino for Vogue. I mean seriously, the styling, the lighting, the everything !

 This Nina Ricci silk-satin gown is breathtaking. And the hair piece amazing quintessential roaring 

1920's fashion. I can not wait for The Great Gatsby to be released, it finally has a set 

date for May 2013.

 This is one Vogue issue that will definitely have me stalking my damn mailbox every morning.

Weekly Guide 4.1.13

Read: Currently getting my Travis Maddox fix with Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire. If you haven't read Beautiful Disaster what are you waiting for ! Check out my review here. Its a college romance, you know bad boy meets good girl falls in love except in this story the good girl isn't so good and the book is setting a lot like Fight Club the movie.

Drink: Tazo Shaken Iced Passion Tea Lemonade from Starbucks is my go to drink during spring time, its just so yummy and refreshing. I love it so much I'm going to be posting a post soon on how to make  your own at home (who doesn't love to enjoy life and save money).

Watch: Revenge is my show! Well if Scandal isn't on because that show is crazy good too. If you like television series about lies, secrets, love and of course revenge this is the show to watch. Every episode will have you like "oh no she didn't!" and she is the evil queen Victoria.

Listen: Miguel's sultry sexy voice has been going on none stop on my itunes this week since I downloaded it. Kaleidoscope Dream is one of the few albums lately that I can actually listen to all the song on and not want to switch to the next. Miguel to me is like Robin Thicke, Usher, and Justin Timberlake wrapped into one.

Do: I miss my school The Fashion Institute of Technology a.k.a FIT and I want to go see their new museum exhibit called Shoe Porn. Can't wait to see this 150 piece collection of out of this world shoes.

Julie is fresh out of high school from a small town in Ohio. She can't wait to start college in Boston and live on her own. If only she would have doubled checked that Craigslist apartment ad to see if it was legit she wouldn't have been stranded without a place to live in front of a Mexican restaurant. Julie calls her mom, who actually doesn't freak out that she just paid 2-months rent for a non-existent apartment and calls her room ate from college who lives in Boston to help Julie.

Matt, Julie's mom's roommate, son picks Julie up. Matt is the biggest geek with the sweetest heart. When they arrive at the Watkins household Matt warns Julie about how eccentric his little sister Celeste is. Turns out Celeste carries around a life-size flat cut out of her older brother Finn everywhere. And the whole family actually encourages this 13-year old to go about like this is normal. Julie plays along with the family sensing this charade is something they are doing for Celeste. As Julie gets to know the family she notices Erin, the mother is never around, or the father Robert. Matt drives Celeste everywhere even makes her food, kind of like her nanny. Julie finds it sweet he cares so much for his sister but finds it unfair he can't have a life because his parents are never there for Celeste.

As Julie gets to know the family she also gets to know the other brother Finn,who is traveling the world, via Facebook chat and they begin a year long online relationship. Celeste in way becomes Celeste babysitter and makes it her goal to get this extremely smart girl to stop being so shy and to not be afraid to socialize. But every time Julie thinks she makes a break through with Celeste, her family just enables her more. This frustrates Julie and she wants to know why this teenager is treated like a porcelain doll and why she carries a life size cardboard of her brother. But not even Finn will tell her why and Matt just tells her to stop asking questions. When Julie, tells her psychology professor about the family she is staying with he tells her something very drastic happened to this family to make them all act this way and this just makes Julie more determined to find out the family secret.

This book is filled with funny, quirky, witty humor. It will make you cry your eyes out too when you find out the secret. The twist will have you saying WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! You will love the emails, instant messages, facebook updates, and not so much the catfish situation. Definitely one of my favorite books because of its uniqueness.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of both my favorite books and movies. The book follows Charlie a wallflower in high school and through out the book you see through his eyes all the different personalities in high school. What makes Charlie special is that he says what everyone is thinking but is afraid to say. This is one of my favorite quotes from the book:

"Why do nice people choose the wrong people to date? Charlie, we accept the love we think we deserve."

On My Nook: Vain by Fisher Amelie

Amazing story ! Started off like an episode of gossip girl and 90210 but ended surprisingly beautifully. Sophie Price was the most selfish and vain person you could know but after having to serve a sentence in a country she never thought twice of because of her horrible past behavior, she becomes a warm loving and appreciative human being. Of course there is a great guy in this story but he's not your average guy because he too has a selfish past. At the beginning Ian can't stand Sophie's selfish ways but he grows to love her because she becomes a beautiful person on the inside rather then on the outside. This is an amazing story that makes you realize what you take for granted and opens your eyes up to the evil that is out there in the world. But most of all it teaches you that after any tragedy you may go through there is always hope and happiness in the end because the sun always comes out.

I don't want to spoil the story for you guys but to give a bit of background Sophie Price ends up being sentenced to volunteer in an orphanage in Uganda. In this particular orphanage they treat and help raise children affected by Joseph Kony's Lord of Resistance Army (LRA), which is an army that abducts, kills, and displaces people, specifically children. Kony creates his army by taking children from their families to join his army and if they refuse he cuts a limb so they can't go to the opposing army and usually these children's parents are killed. Invisible Children is an organization that helps these children with donations and  attracts attention from the media to hopefully one day catch Kony and his army so they can be tried by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Hunger Games has got to be one of my favorite book series, but I must warn you not everyone can finish the third book in the series. If you like to read I do recommend this series if your not emotional when it comes to books. Plus, Katniss Everdeen is a bad ass, can't wait for the second movie to come out.

Weekly Guide 2.11.13

Watch: Just saw Warm Bodies this weekend and now I want to read the book. If any of you guys watch The Walking Dead or are into zombies movies or into apocalyptic movies this movie has a cute quirky spin on that concept. R the main zombie in the movie can't remember his name hence the name R, is slowly becoming human again by falling in love with Julie. Julie just so happens to be the daughter of the man organizing to have the zombies killed. R isn't the only zombie becoming human again, there are a bunch of others too and Julie wants to help them because she is slowly falling in love with R too.

Wear: It's been snowing and raining in New York lately so much it makes no sense trying to wear cute shoes because you're just gonna get your socks wet. My hunter boots have been my savior all week.

Read: Vain by Amelie Fisher is a book I must review for you guys real soon, its so freaking good, heart wrenching and eye-opening. Let's just say it starts off like an episode of Gossip Girl, you know rich spoiled girl who is only worried about seducing guys. But she has a reality check and is sent to work at an orphanage in South Africa where her world comes crashing down on her and she realizes what really is important in life.

Eat: Backed potato with cheese, chives, bacon and sour cream yum ! This has been my go to food this week. Its semi-healthy if I stop adding all that bacon and cheese but I can't help it. The ones at Wendy's are soooo good.

Drink: My new go to drink since I want to cut out soda from my life is Cranberry Juice. It's so good and refreshing as well as good for women's health.

Do: Today I'm going to be going to a special dance class they have at my gym called Bokwa. I must admit I am a bit scared but looking forward to it. Bokwa is a class where you draw letters and numbers with your feet while performing an energized cardio workout.

Listen: Gotye got a Grammy for record of the year for "Someone I Used to Know" and that is my song, been listening to it all week. My other favorite song on the Making Mirrors album is "I Feel Better".

On My Nook: Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks

I read this beautiful story about a month ago but wanted to share it with you guys now because the movie comes out next week on Valentine's Day. If any of you have read any of Nicholas Sparks books you know you shed a few tears on his stories. This is the man who created Noah ! hello from The Notebook, gotta love him. I don't know if I like the character Noah more or just Ryan Gosling, I'd say Ryan Gosling.

Safe Haven is a story of survival. Katie is a young woman running away from her abusive past and finally finds a safe haven to blend into in Southport North Carolina. Here she meets Alex a widower with two kids, who helps her confront her past and stop hiding. I don't want to give too much away because it really is truly beautiful how they help each other during their times of need and become support rocks for each other. I mean who doesn't love a knight in shinning armor, especially when he looks like Josh Duhamel. But yeah book is a great realistic read and I think the movie will be great too.

On My Nook: Colleen Hoover

Okay, so I just had to do a review on all three books by Colleen Hoover together, who by the way is like my new favorite author because they are just that amazing. I'm really in to the New Adult genre since well I am a new adult and all, turning twenty-four tomorrow ( woop woop ). But yeah I'm loving this genre because its beyond vampires, werewolves, wizards, don't get me wrong I love me some Vampire Diaries, I am glued to that television come every Thursday. Back to the point so yeah New Adult is all about well being a new adult and all the difficulties and the joys that come with it. These books make you laugh, cry and feel all mushy inside all at the same time. They are just as good as Young Adult books, but with more how shall I put this less vulgar, um sex. They're are definitely not Fifty Shades of Grey status but they have their hints of heavy make-out sessions here and there. But enough of that:

1. Slammed By Colleen Hoover

Eighteen year old Layken's world has been turn upside down after her fathers sudden unexpected death. She's had to pick up and move to another state and be the rock for her mother and younger brother. She's losing all hope in ever being happy and she finally meets Will. Will Cooper is Layken's young twenty-one year neighbor, who is into slam poetry, and like Layken is feeling the pressure of taking care of his younger brother because of his lack of family. Long story short they eventually go on their first date and have amazing chemistry, but as fate would have it something unexpected happens that forces them apart. It becomes a daily struggle for them to hide their emotions when they must interact everyday and help take care of each others families.

2. Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover

Layken's and Will's relationship has been nothing but struggles and hardships but it has finally brought them together. Now, that they are together someone from Will's past comes back into his life and leaves Layken feeling hopeless again like she did before she met him. Something has happened to Layken that has her closing up on Will and Will is struggling to get through to her. Something horrible once again happens that makes them re-think ever questioning their foundation in the first place.

3. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

This one is a stand alone book that has nothing to so with the Slammed Series but omg is it crazy good. This books is like a mix of Law and Order SVU and The Notebook but with a bad boy in it. If you guys are into Young Adult books and have read Beautiful Disaster by Jamie Mcguire and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn its basically both these books together. I'm warning you this book is an intense emotional roller coaster in the best way possible. Seventeen year old Sky meets Dean Holder, the high school bad boy, who has a reputation she should be running away from, but for some reason she gravitates toward him. Dean scares her as well as makes her feel alive at the same time. But he makes memories she didn't want to remember of her past resurface. Sky eventually finds out Dean isn't who he claims to be and the secret he has been holding from her tears her life apart and leaves her not knowing who she is anymore.

My summaries don't do these books any justice because they have so many twists and turns and secrets I don't want to ruin it for you guys if you do read any of these books. Oh, and by the way there will be a third book in the Slammed series from Will's point of view coming out soon.
