Splurge or Save: Embroidered Leather Jackets

Mar 20, 2017

Embroidery its everywhere! Literally. On denim, leather, velvet, shoes, you name it. Last spring it was all about the patches and this year its all about embroidery. Ever since  Gucci's Spring 2016 runway show it seems all the retailers have been trying to remake the beautiful embroidered leather jacket seen everywhere.

I'm actually loving the embroidery trend, it just gives everything such a fresh update for Spring. You can easily buy a pair of jeans or a leather jacket with some cute embroidered flowers on them your wardrobe is updated for Spring just like that. You don't have to buy something super trendy you're only going where for one season. It is an update on classic items already in your wardrobe. If you don't want to spend money but like the trend, you can definitely buy embroidered patches that give you a similar effect and put on a clothing item you already own.

Even shoes are getting embroidered as well. Thanks to Gucci too the black leather mules with embroidered roses are also being remade by retailers like  Forever 21. That's what I love about  Forever 21 that they're quick to remake something for the masses at affordable prices. Because lets be honest not every trend is worth spending hundreds of dollars on.

With that being said I love that the  Forever 21 leather embroidery jacket is less but in this case I am in love with the  BLANKNYC one and I'm debating getting it. The embroidery just looks more subdued and organic and it goes well with the worn leather look I love.

Oscar Worthy Gowns

Feb 28, 2017

Let's be honest we mainly watch the Oscars for the drool worthy gowns and blinding jewels, at least I do. Also, to see Viola Davis give an acceptance speech because she gives the best ones. I thought there were many beautiful dresses on red carpet on Sunday but these were my favorite of all. Plus Jimmy Kimmel's getting at Trump and Matt Damon had me laughing the whole night. And lets not forget the gorgeous Ryan Gosling sitting in the front row that was definitely not a bad sight.

From left to right:  Viola Davis in custom Armani // Jessica Biel in Kaufman Franco // Janelle Monae in Elie Saab // Emma Stone in Givenchy Haute Couture // Taraji P. Henson in Alberta Ferretti
